The work forms a kind of suite as a whole, and consists of several individual parts. Here we get energetic songs, as well as solos, duos and trios, where the music alternates between the thoroughly composed and the improvised. Thomas has a strong foothold in free jazz and the avant-garde genre, where strong melodic and rhythmic motifs are replaced and tied together by improvised parts.
The Scheen Jazz Orchestra is a professional jazz ensemble based in the Greenland area. The line-up is reminiscent of a big band, but the sound is more like a playful jazz sinfonietta!
