ASQ: Amund Stenøien Quartet + Michaël Attias
Beautiful melodies, complex harmonic structures and explosive interplay!

In recent years, vibraphonist Amund Stenøien has distinguished himself as a new voice on the Norwegian jazz scene. With a solid foundation in swing, he balances original melodies within and beyond the boundary of known tonality, through bone-hard harmonic structures and completely open landscapes.
Stenøien's electroacoustic quartet consisting of the new generation of Norwegian jazz musicians has in recent years toured international stages such as the Oslo Jazz Festival, Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival, Jazzfest and Donau115 in Berlin, and in 2023 the quartet released the album "Coming to Pass" to good reviews. This year, Stenøien explores how guests expand the sound of the quartet.
This has resulted in collaboration with, among others, Lage Lund at the Oslo Jazzforum and for Kongsbergjazz 2024, Stenøien brings the internationally renowned saxophonist Michaël Attias as a guest. With over 20 years of experience from the jazz frontline in New York, Attia is the last piece of the puzzle in Stenøien's new explorations!

"This young group of performers should be allowed to stick together as a band. What they are doing here is good, and it contains a seed for something that can grow big and towards more originality. Coming to Pass exceeds the promise"
Arild R Andersen, Jazznytt
"(Stenøien) is now relevant with the impressively mature debut album Coming To Pass, where he leads a cheeky quartet consisting of several of jazz Norway's new favourites"
Audun Vinger, Now's The Time
