Behind this somewhat cryptic band name hide three musicians who have in common that they all come from Kongsberg. That is why they use the year of Kongsberg's founding as the band name.
All three musicians Tom Hasslan, Axel Skalstad and Håvard Aufles, has received the Kongsberg Jazz Festival's recruitment award.
These musicians have played together a lot in different constellations. With the band Krokofant, Tom and Axel have established themselves quite emphatically in the Norwegian band flora. Håvard is somewhat younger, but he too is making a name for himself - both with his own bands and as a guest with others.
In the summer of 2019, these three played - i.e. 1624 - in the Jazzbox during this year's jazz festival. To say that they created life and stir and excitement is almost an understatement.
We are therefore very much looking forward to welcoming 1624 on Thursday evening at Privat Bar - there will be an atmosphere here!
