Hilde Louise Asbjornsen
With her eminent band, Hilde Louise Asbjørnsen performs at a club concert at the Kongsberg Jazz Festival!

The talents are many; jazz vocalist, songwriter and cabaret artist with several major musical roles behind him. But closest to the heart is music, which has over time resulted in 10 critically acclaimed albums. Now, 4 years after her last album Don´t Stay for Breakfast, she is ready to present her 11th album; Red Lips Knuckles and Bones.
On the new album, Asbjørnsen explores a new landscape, both in terms of lyrics and musical expression. There is still talk of groovy, playful and melodious jazz, but here it swings in a new way. The lyrics revolve around the times we live in; feminine rebellion, people on the run and the loss of friend and artist Pushwagner. There are also heart-felt considerations here, Asbjørnsen says that the song Make som Shine is "a battle song for us who feel we have chosen a narrow path, and need a kick in the rear to dare to move on".
Musically, the album is inspired by 1960s grooves à la Duke Pearson and Lee Morgan, with a touch of Rhythm & Blues, and of course New Orleans.
The concert is followed by a festival jam. Bring your instrument and stop by!
