We have just received some absolutely fantastic news, which embraces both Kongsberg Jazz Festival, Fontenehuset Kongsberg and festival photographer Thomas Hegna!
Norwegian Cultural Organizers Every year, the festival organisers are recognized for their outstanding work in the past year. The jury has spoken, and The finalists for the Organizer Award are ready.Now it is up to fellow organizers to vote for a winner among the finalists in the categories Year-Round Organizer of the Year, Festival of the Year, Inspiration of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.
In the Moment of the Year (photo) category, the audience votes for their favorite.
This year, Kongsberg Jazz Festival is nominated in two categories: Inspiration of the year og Moment of the year.
This is a huge recognition of the many good forces that exist in the festival. In an industry where competition is ever greater, the demands from the audience higher and the market is characterized by acquisitions and new collaborations, uniqueness and genuineness are a prerequisite for success as an organizer. It's good to see what we do in Kongsberg Jazz Festival being valued and promoted from outside!
Inspiration of the year is awarded to an organizer who has implemented a project, initiative or concept that has been an inspiration to other organizers. Previously, the Tons of Rock festival has won with the attitude campaign Tons of Love and Márkomeannu and Riddu Riđđu with the support concert for the Fosen Sami and the Fosen activists at the Riksscenen in Oslo.
We are nominated in this category for our collaboration with Fontenehuset Kongsberg. Inclusion in cultural life, community, pride and joy of music are central values here!:
The collaboration started small in 2016 and is today one of the cornerstones of the festival. The feeling of belonging, being part of something important, experiencing mastery, concerts and the good festival atmosphere together with others, is not a given. Through this collaboration we have achieved just this, and it is fruitful for both parties. The festival has approximately 40 volunteers who set up, decorate, are responsible for the wonderful oasis Jazzboksen and more.
Moment of the year is a picture of our talented festival photographer Thomas Hegna. For the festival, it is an extra great pleasure that the quality of his work is highlighted in this context. Thomas has a very special eye for capturing the good moments, especially what happens outside the concert stages. Atmosphere, audience, officials, our city, Thomas has a talent of his own here!
