Astrid S (NO):
Astrid S has had fabulous success in the last couple of years. The 20-year-old's debut EP included one of her biggest hits, "Hurts So Good", and charted in 21 countries.
Since then, she has released several EPs with great international success. Songs such as "Breathe", "Paper Thin", "2AM", "Hyde" and the Matoma collaboration "Running Out" have contributed to a large fan base worldwide, with over 1 billion plays in total. She has won MTV EMA (Best Norwegian Act), Spellemannpris for Newcomer of the Year and Spellemann of the Year. 2020 will be a big year for Astrid with the release of her debut album and lots of new music.

Melissa Aldana (CH/US):
Melissa Aldana, a Chilean tenor saxophonist, has greatly distinguished herself as a world-class saxophonist in recent years!
She was the first female (and the first South American) musician to win the Theolonius Monk International Saxophone Competition in 2013, aged just 24.
The Washington Post describes her as a representative of "a new sense of possibility and direction in jazz".
She comes to Kongsberg with a band - we promise a fantastic experience!

Space (NO/SE):
Bugge Wesseltoft longed to play in a piano trio, brought two innovative musicians with him and formed the Scandinavian supertrio Rymden.
The band is described as a breath of fresh air on an international level, with an openness to experimentation and radical thinking.
The space is based on three elements: melancholic and atmospheric composition, dramatically changing rhythms and jazz of the highest class.
The rhythm section comes from the well-known EST - this is going to be quite an event!

Subdued and sparse, lingering and beautiful. Parish is yet another successful Swedish-Norwegian collaboration. With relatively simple means where every note and timbre is carefully placed to give the desired effect, an open musical space is created where reflection is cultivated.

Brooklyn Funk Essentials (US):
Brooklyn Funk Essentials is a musical collective, where jazz, funk and hip-hop meet.
Started among New York's hip-hop jazz and slam poetry scenes in the early 90s, the band has shared the stage with artists such as The B-52s, Erykah Badu, Iggy & The Stooges and George Benson.
It's ready for this year's funk party at Christians Kjeller on Saturday during the festival!
