Ragnhild + Kongsberg = ♥
How big are you craving festivals right now?
Above all, I miss concerts and live music! Lack of festival left a big void in my summer last year. At the same time, I am happy that there are still six months until this year's festival starts - we need that time to prepare a good and safe festival experience for the audience, musicians and officials alike. But damn it, I'm looking forward to being able to organize a festival in the summer - then it will be exciting to see on what scale it will be.
Strongest festival experience?
Impossible to pick one experience! At Kongsberg, it is the sum of the concerts, the atmosphere, the venues and the people that together become the unique Kongsberg Jazz Festival. If I have to single out some concert experiences, it would have to be the intimate concert with Valkyrien & Fredrik Høyer in the round amphitheater we set up on the stage in the old Kongsberg cinema. It was an incredibly powerful experience. It was otherwise at Kongsberg that I opened my ears to jazz of the freer kind; have had many experiences that have left their mark both at Smeltehytta and in the scorching sun in Naufgården from when Avanthagen used to be held here. Of the larger folk festival concerts at Kirketorget, I probably can't avoid Stevie Wonder in the anniversary year 2014.
Kongsberg + Ragnhild = Newly moved in and newly in love<3. The moving package arrived on 22 December and now we live in the middle of a winter wonderland. Although I have worked in Kongsberg before, it is something completely different to live here. When I walk around the city I am blown away by how nice it actually is here, there is so much potential in this city! Now I'm looking forward to slightly more normal days, when city life opens up again. The first thing I will do then is go to a concert at Mølla, guaranteed.
What is your guilty pleasure when it comes to music?
Eurovision! I always have to watch the international final. And I can excel with my knowledge of one hit wonders from the 90s on quizzes, hehe.
