Letter One Rising Stars Jazz Award

While a global pandemic has brought the live music industry to a standstill, the 'LetterOne RISING STARS Jazz Award' offers a glimmer of hope to musicians who have seen their concerts and tours disappear into the open. The prize offers the opportunity to win two complete tours: 7 shows at major jazz festivals in Europe for the European winner and 10 shows at major jazz festivals in the US and Canada for the winner of the North American edition. Both tours take place in 2021.

Who can apply? All jazz musicians can submit their material (3 audio samples and 1 video) on our dedicated website www.l1risingstarsjazzaward.com and a jury will then select the next RISING STAR / s. The submission period begins on 1 August 2020 and ends at midnight on 31 October 2020. The winners will be announced in mid-January 2021.

1. Submission. To be considered by the jury, artists can submit biographical material, photographs, three sound samples and a video link via online upload. The submission period starts on 1 August and ends on 31 October 2020 at midnight. The material should illustrate their music. The submission and upload site is www.l1risingstarsjazzaward.com

2. Reconciliation. The jury's voting process begins on November 1. In the first round of voting, the participating festivals will have their say and reduce the number of entries to approximately 30 candidates. In the second round, a jury of professionals and musicians in the music industry will choose their individual favourites, after which they will also finally choose the winners.

3. Announcement. The winners of the 2020/21 season of the 'LetterOne RISING STARS Jazz Award' European and North American edition will be announced in mid-January 2021!
