Kongsberg Jazz Festival is expanding!

Expands with two venues. Close to 40.000 bought tickets for last year's festival. This constituted an audience record and the folk festival of all time.

The festival therefore invites two new venues to the team. 15 different clubs and arenas will be filled with everything from innovative and traditional jazz to more popular appeal. Lågdalsmuseet og Privat Bar will be seen on the official festival program - the release of concerts on these stages already takes place from next Friday.

"It is unique for Kongsberg that the whole town plays as a team during the festival. That is why we are Norway's biggest jazz festival. The new venues will contribute to our vision of offering Norway's best jazz experiences," says festival manager Kai Gustavsen.

Lågdalsmuseet is commonly known for being the farm, or the family-friendly museum in the heart of Kongsberg. With a unique location, surrounded by urban agriculture and cultural history, they will be able to attract as many as 190 festival participants per concert.

"Week 27 is the week when Kongsberg people come out of all their little bubbles and create a big jazz festival bubble together. With a children's carnival for the little ones, golden jazz for the older ones, a folk festival for most people and special passes for jazz connoisseurs, the festival has something for everyone. Lågdalsmuseet, which in the summer is the city's own farm right next to the city centre, looks forward to being part of this," says general manager of Lågdalsmuseet Gry Charlotte Ljøterud Andersen

Privat Bar opened as a small cocktail bar in 2006. Since then, they have developed the concept to become the city's main draw when it comes to nightlife. With their own gastropub, sports bar and nightclub with a stage, they are ready to invite a party-ready audience in during this year's festival.

"Kongsberg Jazz Festival means a lot to many people, and we are no exception. We are very happy to be able to challenge ourselves these days, and promise top quality even in these hectic times. Jazz has always been a highlight for us." says Mosh Estrakhi at Privat Bar.
