The jazz film program is ready!

Jazz on the screen – from legends to rebellion, from Cologne to Kongsberg.

This year's Jazz Film program takes you on a journey through musical rebellions and intimate portraits. We delve into powerful life stories and political movements, gain insight into legendary concert moments and experience how jazz intervenes in both society and individuals. Here, historical highlights and new voices meet, iconic collaborations and forgotten moments captured on film – all with the power of jazz as a common pulse.

In addition, we invite you to a unique lecture with Johan Hauknes, which takes us on a deep dive into NRK's jazz coverage from the 60s to the 90s – with clips from the director Jan Horne and screening of two historical documentaries from the Kongsberg Jazz Festival.

It's all happening during this year's festival. Set aside some time – this is going to be a journey!
