GAMLE NORGE PASS

[Old Norse]

At the Folkefestscenen behind Gamle Norge you can experience some of the country's most popular artists. You can see the artists included in the Old Norway passport below.

Bernhoft & The Fashion Bruises

The phenomenon Jarle Bernhoft is back with a new album and with his regular band, The Fashion Bruises

Bernhoft undoubtedly has the ability to excite the public, which we experienced most recently in 2014 when he last visited the Kongsberg Jazz Festival in front of a packed audience at Kirketorget. If Bernhoft has a program statement, it is that he wants to make people dance and think at the same time. This also applies to the highest extent to the album "Humanoid", which was released in August 2018 together with his permanent band.

Hellbillies

Hellbillies anno 2019 is thus better than ever!

Hellbillies - one of Norway's most successful bands - embark on a new tour. Or is that what they actually do? With more than 1700 concerts during their currently 28-year existence, the band has driven up and down through "a slightly too long country" more and further than most. They have practically never stopped. With this, we can agree that Hellbillies have earned a well-deserved status as one of the country's very best live bands.

Ole Børud

No one who has followed "Stjernekamp" this autumn can have avoided noticing the far from silent crowd of supporters in the hall when Ole Børud enters the stage

Børud was last seen through his participation in NRK's popular television programme, Stjernekamp. In his musical background, Børud has touched a large audience in several genres, which he proved greatly during his participation in Stjernekamp. Vise, blues, EDM and opera are some of the genres that brought Børud to a solid third place and into several Norwegian homes.

Adam Douglas with Hanne Boel

An evening filled with soul, blues and jazz. Hanne Boel hosts Adam Douglas at Gamle Norge during this year's festival.

Adam Douglas is the "unknown" winner of Stjernekamp. But far from unknown among those interested in blues and soul. Now Norway is waiting for Adam and he couldn't be more ready. We are very much looking forward to seeing him during this year's festival in Kongsberg.

Ikue Mori

A unique opportunity to experience electronic music in pure perfection

The term living legend is used rather loosely in musical contexts, but in relation to Ikue Mori it is quite natural to bring it up.

The front garden

This year's program consists of three concerts, and each one of them should excite even the most jaded festival-goer

Kongsberg Jazzfestival has for many years presented three concerts in one in Smeltehytta with the label The front garden. Avanthagen has become an important part of the Kongsberg Jazz Festival and helps to underline our focus on experimental music.

Trondheim Jazz Orchestra + Atomic

Premiere of a new work by Atomic for the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra!

Atomic and the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra have an interesting shared history. In addition to the fact that they both reached their legal age in 2018, they are also defining for the Scandinavian jazz developed after the turn of the millennium. Atomic paved the way for a more American approach to Nordic jazz, at the same time that the influence of European art music has gained an increasingly greater place in the expression over the years.

Joshua Abrams Natural Information Society with Helge Sten & Hamid Drake

From Chicago comes Joshua Abrams' Natural Information Society with a mix of long stretches, minimalist lines and hard-swinging rhythms.

Joshua Abrams' guimbri is the centerpiece of the music, which mixes inspiration from gnawa, free jazz and psychedelia. Since the band started in 2010, the line-up has varied from concerts to recordings, but in recent years it has centered around Abrams, Lisa Alvarado on harmonium and gong, along with bass clarinetist Jason Stein and drummer Mikel Avery.

Bill Frisell Trio

Composer and guitarist Bill Frisell is recognized as one of the leading guitarists in jazz history since the late 1980s

Frisell has helped to influence the music around us for several decades and has collaborated with, among others, Paul Motian, Elvis Costello and John Zorn to name a few. He is known for his highly regarded recordings and had his latest release in the spring of 2018, 'Music IS'.
