Hanne – satellite of everything!

My heart beats hard for jazz. The festival is founded on love for the music and the city, and not on money. No dividends are paid, so to speak. It is important that people are aware of that, says Hanne. It provides a unique unity, which I hope more people will try out.

There are some red wine stains on the first drawings of Tubaloon, laughs Hanne Johnsen. She started as a clerk in 93, was a jazz employee who festival coordinator and marketing manager from 97-2008. Now she is a full-time civil servant, but on a daily basis works as a Project Logistics Planner at TechnipFMC.

Participating in realizing Tubaloon was absolutely fantastic, it started as a crazy idea that eventually landed as a signature scene at Kirketorget. Tore Flesjø was festival manager at the time, we were a wonderful duo, Hanne recalls. After I quit as an employee, I had a bit of a satellite and coordination role into the festival. I was a bit of a potato and everywhere. I am now associated with the media group and enjoy it very much.

It is simply magical what happens in the city in the last few days before the public flocks in and the artists take the stage. When you stand there on Monday in week 27, I think there are many people who think that this is not going to work, but then it just happens. Officials with many years of experience flock in, share knowledge with the new ones, everything falls into place and we are ready. It gives an adrenaline kick every time and simply has to be experienced. The countdown to the 2022 festival has now begun in earnest.

Much of the program is out now and one of the things I have taken responsibility for outside the festival is to create a spotify list with all the music you can enjoy at this year's festival. Just jazz yourself up! The Spotify list can be found here: KJF2022
