FREE, FRESH AND FREE 2

Særingfesten Friday night has become a tradition at Kongsberg Jazzfestival, and more and more people are discovering this emergence of musical joys. Also this year sets Paal Nilssen-Love og Ståle Liavik Solberg together a varied and inspiring programme. The arrangement will be as before, four sequences with a mixture of well-known and slightly less well-known musicians. A trio consisting of electronics master Ikue Mori, the guitarist Jasper Stadhouder and sickening party host Ståle Liavik Solberg on drums, alone should be enough to fill Smeltehytta. But there is more! The bass player Barry Phillips considered among the world's best solo bassists, and a duo consisting of the almost legendary drummer Hamid Drake and the fast-rising trumpet star Jamie Branch undoubtedly creates high expectations. Finally comes a quartet in which the well-known Norwegian musicians Kjetil Monster, Ingebrigt H. Flaten og Day Erik K. Andersen brings the saxophonist Rachel Musson – a name that resonates well on the improv scene in London. This music menu seems to consist entirely of entrees!
