Workshop
On 5 July the Kongsberg Jazz Festival starts and then the city will be turned on its head. The jazz parade kicks off the festival and the whole of Kongsberg gathers for dance, music, life and excitement.
Kongsberg is known for cultivating many talented musicians, and we believe that the jazz festival and the workshop are an important reason for this.
At the Parade and Band Workshop, emphasis is placed on working by ear - i.e. without sheet music. The instructors will also teach improvisation. The workshops end with the jazz festival's opening parade, and/or a concert on one of the festival's outdoor stages.
All the instructors are experienced musicians who participate in a number of renowned bands and musical projects. All of them also have extensive experience as instructors on various courses and in cultural contexts.
