Wenche Myhre
Wenche Myhre has sort of always been there in the Norwegian entertainment industry - and she still is - so it works!
She has been a popular artist ever since she was in her early teens. In 2023, she celebrated her 75th birthday by traveling around the country and holding anniversary concerts. And it never stops.
The first single, "Oh, it's Sunday", became hugely popular, and the rest is history. Over 60 years later, she can look back on a fantastic career, both as an artist and an actress.
In fact, she shot her first film, Lovers, in 1963.
Wenche has been a resounding success in the Nordics and many other countries. Especially in Germany, where she has topped the charts and had several big TV shows, there she is still "die Wencke".
Songs such as "Let me be young", "We live", "Our cat", "Winter and snow", "66", "There are such things that happen", "Give me a cowboy for a man" and many more, has long been common property for several generations here at home.
Everything is thus ready for an afternoon where we get to feel the whole range of emotions. Ballads, rock and roll, smiles and laughter, but also touching moments.
The band is led by Wenche's partner, the Swedish conductor, musician and arranger Anders Eljas. He has been a central figure in Swedish music since he toured with ABBA in the 70s. He has, among other things, worked on musicals such as Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, Guys and Dolls, as well as arranging the original music for Chess for orchestra.
There's nothing to be happy about - it's going to be great with all of Norway's Queen of Battles - Wenche Myhre!!
