Veslemøy Narvesen
Based on a broad range of genres, Veslemøy Narvesen creates music that challenges and moves.

We know Veslemøy Narvesen primarily as an absolutely superb drummer in various jazz-related constellations, but she is very diverse, and she dabbles in several other genres as well. In the project "We Don't Imagine Anymore", she combines several of these impulses.
In just a few years, Veslemøy Narvesen has placed himself in the elite tier of Norwegian drummers. Whether she plays sensitively in Kongle Trio, fierce rock in Mall Girl or jumps in as a substitute in Gard Nilssen's big band, Supersonic Orchestra, she does it completely convincingly. At last year's jazz festival in Kongsberg, she sat side by side with her teacher Thomas Strønen, at the very front of the stage, in Strønen's great work "Et ørlite beat". In 2020, Kongle Trio was named Young Jazz Musicians of the Year, and it is perhaps in such transparent formats that she impresses the most - with a particularly sensitive playing; we are especially fond of her use of cymbals.
The album "We Don't Imagine Anymore" consists of 10 tracks which in their own way reflect Veslemøy Narvesen's musical personality. Based on a broad range of genres, she creates music that challenges and moves. Some texts are in English, some in Norwegian. The lyrics are meaningful, and the compositions are melodic and catchy. She appears to be an excellent vocalist, with a warm and expressive voice. Inspiration is drawn from various musical extremes such as Nordic Nordic jazz, to avant garde, to shows in dialect. It is all tied together by the singing drummer Veslemøy Narvesen, who together with his participating musicians creates a timeless expression.
