Ulf Myrvold No Limits Project

When blues meets African traditional music, something truly unique is created!

Concert starts: 21:00 Single ticket price: NOK 445

No Limits Project, stems from three driven musicians' years of experience with blues and traditional African music.

Da Ulf Myrvold, Mattis Kleppen and Eivind Kløverød met in the summer of 2023, it was like a dam bursting, and years of accumulated experience and joy of playing were unleashed in a symbiosis of tradition and innovation. Out of this interaction, new songs have crystallized, with Norwegian lyrics written by Ulf Myrvold.

For the concert at this year's festival, it was only natural to invite Ibou Cissokho on the kora and Andreas Hoem Røysum on clarinet and saxophone.

Ulf Myrvold has performed at the festival on several occasions, including the unforgettable concert with artist Xoliswa Tom from South Africa. His album OLD MEMORIES (2019) was nominated for Spellemann Prize in 2019.

Mattis Kleppen, known from the orchestra Resjemheia, is a professor of music at Nord University and has immersed himself in traditional African music throughout his musical career. He has toured domestically and internationally with the world-famous kora player Solo Cissohko from Senegal. Last year, Kleppen received the Spellemannsprisen together with percussionist Sidi Kamara.

Eivind Kløverød is one of the country's most sought-after drummers, both as a concert musician and in the studio. Kløverød tours with artists such as Unni Wilhelmsen, Knut Reiersrud, Jonas Fjeld and others.

Ibou Cissokho is the son of Solo Cissokho and continues the advanced and fascinating tradition from West Africa, adding virtuosity and distinctiveness to the music.

Andreas Hoem Røysum tours the world's biggest jazz stages, from Tokyo to Canada, is a master of his instrument, and masters both the melodic and sensitive, and unbridled improvisation.

We can promise a musical fireworks display at Christians Kjeller in July!
