Tom Skinner
Tom Skinner is known from both The Smile and Sons of Kemet, but comes to Energimølla with his critically acclaimed solo project "Voices of Bishara".

Drummer and composer Tom Skinner has been central to London's underground musical scene for over twenty years. He has particularly made a name for himself through bands such as The Smile, together with Radiohead members Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood, as well as the band Sons of Kemet, which he started with band leader Shabaka Hutchings.
In 2022, Tom Skinner released his first record under his own name; "Voices of Bishara", and it is this music that we will hear at Energimølla on Jazz Saturday. Tom Skinner both composed and recorded the music for saxophone, percussion, bass, cello and flute in the same room. He then manipulated the recordings and reassembled them, with the intention of breathing new life into the music. The result is hypnotic and unique.
Over the years, Tom Skinner has played with many big names from several musical camps, including Grace Jones, Jarvis Cocker, Matthew Herbert, Mulatu Astatke and Floating Points, to name a few.
We look forward to diving into Tom Skinner's musical universe on Saturday 6 July!
