The Harvey Steel Show
With colorful costumes and music that borders on psychedelic rock, jazz, blues, soul, prog and pop music, The Harvey Steel Show will take the audience on a journey. Rumor has it that the band comes from the planet Jupiter: "...the Show deals with pop music, but some musical elements from Jupiter seem to have remained as well" - Luna Kafé record review.
The Harvey Steel Show is playing for the first time at the Kongsberg Jazz Festival and is looking forward to spreading musical joy as well as surrealism.
The band consists of six musicians with education in visual arts, music, informatics, sound design and one ecological agronomist. The band also has a scenographer who works closely with the band. With good speed from bands and projects since the end of the 90s, everyone also shares a genuine love for music.:
Thomas Bergsten (Harvey Steel – conductor/guitarist/vocalist)
Øyvind Heilo (Blue Cosmic Storm – keys)
Asbjørn Brekke (Sneaky Snare Bear – drums)
Anders Eddie Jacobsen (Boatswain Seabass – bass)
Jakob Eri Myhre (Cream Puff Warrior – trumpet)
Kristine Marie Aasvang (Red Velvet – vocals)
Mari Lassen Kamsvaag (Yellow Spectral Star – costumes/scenography)
Just before Christmas, the band released an EP under the name "We're living on borrowed cheeze" and on September 11 this year the full-length "Full double rainbow!" will be released.
