Sølvsalen

Tanaka/Lea/Strønen

ECM favorite Thomas Strønen meets two of the newest rising stars on the Norwegian jazz scene in this energetic trio, which plays in the intimate Sølvsalen on the last day of the festival.

Door opens: 17:30 Single ticket price: NOK 300

The trio Tanaka/Lea/Strønen find themselves in an open, exploratory and improvising landscape.

We know Thomas Strønen from very different musical backgrounds: From the acoustic ECM project Time Is A Blind Guide, where Ayumi Tanaka also features on piano, to projects such as Humcrush and Food where electronics play a central role.

Japanese Ayumi Tanaka lives in Oslo where she has studied improvisation under Misha Alperin. Many jazz listeners have noticed her name, among other things, through her own band Ayumi Tanaka Trio.

Saxophonist Marthe Lea is educated from the jazz line at NMH in Oslo and has in recent years, among other things, made a name for herself as a member of Bugge Wesseltoft's new "New Conception of Jazz".

Marthe Lea (saxophone), Ayumi Tanaka (piano), Thomas Strønen (drums)
