Stian Westerhus Solo
The guitarist Stian Westerhus has in recent years distinguished himself as one of the most original and personal voices in today's jazz. After making a strong and positive impact in bands such as Jaga Jazzist, the English Fraud and Puma and with musicians such as Nils Petter Molvær and Sidsel Endresen, he is now appearing more and more often with his own projects. At this year's Kongsberg Festival we will hear him solo. To attend a solo concert with Stian Westerhus is to undertake a strange and particularly fascinating musical journey through some known and many unknown musical landscapes. He demolishes many people's usual notions of how a guitar should sound, but after a solo concert with Stian Westerhus we are still completely convinced that what we have just heard are the most perfect sounds and tones that can be produced on a guitar.
