Solveig Slettahjell, In the Country & Knut Reiersrud: Trail of Souls
Three names from the top shelf in Norwegian music life have joined forces for a unique collaboration that can be heard in atmospheric Kongsberg Church on Thursday 7 July.
The collaboration between Solveig Slettahjell, the piano trio In The Country and Knut Reiersrud started with a concert in the Berlin Philharmonic in spring 2014, where several other Norwegian jazz musicians were also involved. The concert resulted in the album "Live at the Berlin Philharmonic", which was nominated for the Spellemannsprisen in 2015. The collaboration between these five unique musicians added flavor, and the album "Trail of Souls" was released in autumn 2015 with subsequent critically acclaimed concerts and strong reviews. The five musicians have delved into the African-American blues/soul/gospel tradition and created their own versions with their very own distinct signature.
