Röyksopp + Highasakite
Electronica success Röyksopp and pop sensation Highasakite will take over Kirketorget on Saturday 4 July.
The fallow success Highasakite have in the last couple of years gone from being an indie band for the few insiders to being one of the country's most sought-after pop groups. The band, fronted by vocalist Ingrid Helene Håvik, received two Spellemannsprize this year for their acclaimed album "Silent Treatment", which was also the most streamed Norwegian album at WIMP in 2014. In the last couple of years, Highasakite has toured the country, played on small and large concert stages and eventually topped a high number of festival posters.
Since Röyksopp released his first album Melody AM in 2001, the arrows have only pointed upwards for the duo who, more than anyone else, have contributed to putting Norwegian electronica on the musical world map. The duo has sold millions of records, received both the MTV Award and the Spellemann Prize, and topped the bill at multiple festivals in both Norway and abroad during their 15-year career, which has been an exceptional achievement both artistically and commercially. In recent years, the collaboration with Robyn, Lykke Li, Susanne Sundfør and Karin Drejer has taken Röyksopp to an even larger audience.
Röyksopp is widely known for his spectacular live concerts, full of visual effects and laser lights - and no expense is spared either when the Norwegian electronica duo comes to Kirketorget to close the 2015 edition of the Kongsberg jazz festival.
With Highasakite and Röyksopp on stage, it's ready for this year's party at Kirketorget!
