REMIKSME: Hanne Hukkelberg & Fredrik Høyer

Hanne Hukkelberg and Fredrik Høyer meet in a concert performance where music, language, dreams and cosmologies are blended together. These two artists, working in different creative areas, have remixing as a common interest. Thanks to director Nils Petter Mørland (theater manager at Brageteatret in Drammen) they will meet in Kongsberg to explore hidden rooms and fresh possibilities in new material.

Fredrik Høyer is a Norwegian poet, dramatist and actor from Drammen. He is best known for his performances of his own texts on stage, television and radio. In 2016 he published his poetry collection Grønlandsütraen, which was subsequently put on as a monologue performance by the National Theatre in Oslo. Fredrik Høyer is also one half of the duo Bendik Baksaas + Fredrik Høyer.

Hanne Hukkelberg’s unique sound and talent as songwriter, musician and singer have convinced critics writing for publications such as Pitchfork, The Guardian, Metro and Uncut, as well as media houses KCRW and the BBC. Hanne is from Kongsberg and celebrates 15 years as an artist by releasing her sixth album this summer.

Nils Petter Mørland is artistic director of Brageteatret, Buskerud’s regional theatre, having come from Oslo’s Det Andre Teatret, of which he was founder and artistic director. Mørland has previously worked with both Hukkelberg and Høyer, but never in the same performance. Mørland was also the curator for last year’s festival audience success when he combined the considerable forces of Valkyrien and Fredrik Høyer in the old cinema in Kongsberg. The commissioned work is funded by the Norwegian Arts Council.
