In collaboration with Quality Hotel Grand, we welcome the public to feel the festival atmosphere in Jazzgata. Here there are free concerts throughout the day, and DJs into the late hours of the night.

JAZZÅ // 11:00

The big band Jazzå has been given a unique opportunity to collaborate with the municipality of Florence's big band - Ray Bepi big band. They started in 1970 and consist of semi-professionals and amateurs. The bands first met in 2017 in Florence and had a mini-tour in Tuscany together. There will be talented soloists and a bubbling Italian-Norwegian atmosphere!

BUUVS // 12:30 p.m

BUVUS - Buskerud and Vestfold youth big band - is a jazz orchestra that plays both old hits and new, originally written music. In BUVUS, grooves, strong melodies and lots of improvisation are at the fore.

The band members come, as the name suggests, from Buskerud and Vestfold, and they meet five weekends a year to rehearse, play, jam and play concerts under the direction of Andreas Rotevatn and Steffen Granly.

Swing it! // 14:00

For the sixth year in a row, Swing'it returns to the Kongsberg Jazz Festival to take the audience on a journey 100 years back in time across the Atlantic to 1920s New Orleans. They serve up a very entertaining show served with straw hats, humour, juicy wind solos, swinging rhythms and a good dose of charm. Get ready to party with the Great Gatsby!

Ian & the Jazzheads // 15:30 p.m

The British saxophonist Ian Trewhella has been part of the jazz scene in the UK, USA, Germany, Poland, Israel, Cyprus and Spain before he landed in Norway. Together with musicians from Hurum, Oslo and Azerbaijan, Trewhella formed the band Ian & the JazzHeads in 2017.

Ian & the Jazz Heads have an informal but engaging approach to a broad repertoire within jazz and jazz-rock, with songs by, among others, the Brecker Brothers, Bob Berg and Mike Stern, Sam Rivers, John Coltrane.

Vollen Big Band // 17:00

The Vollen Big Band and the trombonist, Øyvind Brække, have teamed up to create a project with only well-known Norwegian songs in big band format. The music is arranged by Øyvind, and he is also a soloist at the concert. There will be a wide range from Prøysen and Erik Bye, to Gabrielle and Cezinando. Sparkling arrangements are served here, combined with a brilliant soloist!

Myyst // 18:30

Myyst is a Jazz/Rock group that was formed in 2014. They started by playing indie rock, but quickly moved in a much more progressive direction. Today, they play a sometimes hard-hitting mix of jazz, prog and rock, and always allow themselves to be challenged musically. A Myyst concert can be described in four words:
Blood, Sweat, Tears and Saxophone.

Funkelia Groove Company // 20:00

With the city's rawest brass line-up, energetic vocalists and a repertoire that smells of gunpowder, Festivalgata will swing on Saturday evening. Funkelia Groove Company serves soul and funk with great energy and bubbling joy of playing. Don't miss an hour with this group, who have the honor of putting an end to this year's festival in Festivalgata.

DJ Ole K // 21:00

Ole K has been a DJ around Norway since the late nineties! He plays a blissful mix of soul, funk, yacht rock, disco and pop. Not too weird, not too straight, but very dance-friendly.

Note that there is a free age limit in Festivalgata until 20:00 p.m.!
