Poetry oasis: Kjartan Fløgstad Band
Kjartan Fløgstad Band guests the poetry oasis.
At the poetry oasis this year, we are proud to be able to present the Kjartan Fløgstad Band. The band consists of writer Kjartan Fløgstad, writer and journalist Tom Stalsberg, bassist and singer Steinar Raknes in addition to the man with the rhythm instruments Odin Staveland.
The KFB must not be confused with the KGB, but they aim for world domination from Murmansk in the north to Sauda in the west. In the south they are uncertain and in the east we believe in Finnskogen after midnight.
KFB is based on Fløgstad's poetic texts, collected in the book SANDHARPESONGAR (Gyldendal 2018), with newly composed music by Raknes. A blissful mix of short-traveled and long-traveled tones from American jukeboxes, landscape play and bush games, jazz club and blues-bule and cathedral and high mountains.
The authors will also write some new texts on current and highly irrelevant topics. At the time of writing, Fløgstad is out with the critically acclaimed novel, DUE OG DRONE (Gyldendal 2019), of which there will be a light book bath in addition to a concert with singing, readings, scares, seriousness and perhaps the occasional pun.
