The poetry oasis: Frida Ånnevik

Frida Ånnevik is one of our finest artists in the borderlands of pop/music/jazz - guess it will be tight for space in Kongsberg's nicest backyard

Door opens: 15:00 Single ticket price: NOK 350

Frida Ånnevik has established herself as an important Norwegian voice in today's music scene. With four releases behind her, Frida has garnered praise and good reviews, and not least earned herself three Spellemann awards, side by side with strong names such as Stein Torleif Bjella, Kari Bremnes and Ole Paus to name a few.

In 2016 and 2017, she released the sister albums "Her Bor" and "Flyge fra" which both garnered good reviews and which both won Spellemann in the category, 'Show of the Year'. Several singles in which Frida has dressed the songs in a new guise with her Norwegian lyrics will be released towards the summer, and in September her forthcoming album, 'Andre sanger', will be released.

Other songs, is a record project that has been created over several years. It's a cover album with songs from a wide range of artists and songwriters:

"There are songs I have sneaked in as encores in my concerts, there are songs from my role models, comfort songs for myself and songs that I have wondered how they would sound in Norwegian. So I wanted to record them" says Ånnevik about his upcoming album.

Ånnevik brings guitarist Haldor Røyne and pianist Andreas Stensland Løwe with him during this year's performance. A trio that will surely give you goosebumps with their new rewritten songs, as well as beautiful versions of songs from previous releases.

Ånnevik will play during this year's edition of 'Poesioasen', which takes place among Kongsberg's most unique arenas. Christians Kjeller is located in a conservation-worthy and traditional block of flats on the West side. Here you will find the restaurant Opsahlgården with a gastropub and, as mentioned, the music cellar Christian's keller. The concerts during the jazz festival will continue to be traditionally held in the pleasant backyard.

"Frida Ånnevik is one of our finest artists in the borderland of pop/music/jazz and it will be great to see her during this year's festival - guess it will be tight for space in Kongsberg's nicest backyard" says marketing manager, Julie Vold Bjørkamo
