Petter Wettre: Remembering Michael Brecker + Jam Session

Wettre will perform his current project «Remembering Michael Brecker» at this year festival. Jørn Øien, Hans Mathisen, Daniel Franck and Hermund Nygård will join him on stage, and perform an expedition of Michael Brecker’s musical universe. An evening based on honoring one of the jazz history’s best saxophonist, filled with music that have meant a lot for so many.
Its about 10 years ago, Michael Brecker passed away. Brecker was one of the most influential musicians of his generation regardless of genre and instrument. He was considered by many to be the most important saxophonist since John Coltrane. Despite his young age at his death (57), Brecker left a tremendous musical heritage ranging from jazz, rock and fusion. It is simply impossible to be interested in music today without being directly affected by Becker’s saxophone games or any of the over 900 studio recordings he participated in.
As well as his concert, Petter will be holding a jam session on the same evening – which means two concerts on one night!
