Petter Wettre: Remembering Michael Brecker & jam session
Remembering Michael Brecker + Jam Session: two concerts on one and the same evening - in two different formats.

Saxophonist and composer, Petter Wettre is known for his extensive production. He has released 19 albums under his own name and received the Spellemann in the years 2000 and 2007. In addition, he has participated in a number of major international and national collaborations with musicians such as Manu Katché, George Garzone, Dave Liebman and Nils Petter Molvær, to name a few some.
Wettre is ready to take over the Kongsberg Jazz Festival with his current project, 'Remembering Michael Brecker. With this concert, Petter Wettre brings Jørn Øien, Hans Mathisen, Daniel Franck and Hermund Nygård with him. Where we will experience an expedition of Michael Brecher's rich musical universe and together we will pay tribute to a musician who has meant so much to so many.
Just over 10 years ago, Michael Brecker passed away. Brecker was one of the most influential musicians of his generation regardless of genre and instrument. He was considered by many to be the most important saxophonist since John Coltrane. Despite his young age at the time of his death (57), Brecker left behind an enormous musical legacy that ranges from a jazz rock / fusion repertoire to small jazz combos via guest soloist on countless recordings with "all" the great American artists. None mentioned. No one forgotten. It is simply impossible to be interested in music today without being directly affected by Becker's saxophone playing or some of the more than 900 studio recordings he participated in.
In addition to the Michael Brecker tribute, Wettre will have a jam session on the same evening at Argus. In other words, two concerts on one and the same evening - in two different formats.
