Nye stemmer: PSS-80

This year, the Kongsberg Jazzfestival also presents young musicians under the vignette ”Nye Stemmer” (”New Voices”). There will be a double concert with drummer Axel Skalstad and the pianist Håvard Aufles – both of which originate from the productive jazz community in Kongsberg.

NB! Joint ticket for both Nye Stemmer concerts.

There are still waves of talented jazz musicians from the renowned jazz program at NTNU in Trondheim, and in recent years the waves have been big. Several of the musicians in Axel Skalstad’s band PSS-80 have recently completed their studies in Trondheim. We know them from bands like Megalodon, Krokofant, Kjetil Jerve Trio and many, many more. The trumpeter Erik Kimestad Pedersen is a central musician in Copenhagen’s jazz environment. Drummer Skalstad has made a strong and positive mark lately – especially in the popular trio Krokofant. Axel Skalstad received the Kongsberg Jazzfestival recruitment award in 2012.
