New voices: Kiap with Marthe Lea + Rohey
The four band members in ROHEY met at Jazzlinja in Trondheim, where they discovered that they all had a penchant for baggy grooves, lick chords and vocals with real soul! The music is a mix of jazz, soul and r&b with both original songs, arrangements of jazz standards and pop songs.

In 2011, Magnus Grimnes received the festival's recruitment award. Here we get to hear him with the trio Kiap, which for the occasion has been reinforced with saxophonist Marthe Lea. The band assures us that we will recognize impulses from both rock, free jazz, contemporary music and more!
