Nils Økland & Sigbjørn Apeland

A meeting between two border crossing musicians

Concert starts: 17:30 Single ticket price: NOK 300

At this concert we meet two musicians who have in common their boundary-crossing and exploratory tonal language.

Nils Økland is one of our most recognized and respected musicians, internationally known for his innovative playing style at the intersection of folk music, improvisation and art music. He has released music on ECM, Rune Grammofon and Hubro, both solo, with his own Nils Økland band and with other constellations with e.g. Christian Wallumrød, Arve Henriksen, and bands such as 1982 and Lumen Drones.

Sigbjørn Apeland is a composer and organist, and also operates in the musical border areas between folk music, church music, electronic music and improvisational music. Sigbjørn Apeland also composes music for theatre, art installations and film, and he collaborates with musicians such as Benedicte Maurseth, Sigrid Moldestad and Knut Hamre.
