Natacha Diels: Somewhere Beautiful
In collaboration with nyMusikk, we present Somewhere Beautiful, a solo performance in three parts by Natacha Diels.
This performance is a journey into a whimsical landscape populated by sounds and images that are both familiar and unfamiliar, reassuring and disturbing. The work is in three parts – an overview of the journey from life to death (Somewhere Beautiful), a dissolution of cohesion through unceasing rigor (Untitled work), and a directionless journey towards a long, golden road (The God-Fearing Woodsman).
Natacha Diels' work is known for a scenic expression where the music is performed in an almost "robotic" way. She has previously made commissioned works for construction cranes and a giant butterfly for Borealis in Bergen and otherwise works in large parts of the world. The music has been described as "a fairy tale for a fractured world" (Music We Care About) and it is with great excitement that we welcome her to Smeltehytta.
