Monkey Plot
Monkey Plot invites you to an improvised journey through desert blues, American country rock, Norwegian soundscapes and Japanese noh theatre.
In 2014, the distinctive trio Monkey Plot received the coveted title of "Young jazz musicians of the year" when they ran away with the victory in the Jazzintro final. The jury praised the trio, among other things, for their modern and original expression that is unlike anything else.
Monkey Plot does not allow itself to be limited by genre definitions and draws inspiration from both different types of folk music, acoustic icons such as Neil Young and Nick Drake, as well as the experimental noise, improv and jazz scene.
"Leaves and light pennants" is the title of Monkey Plot's debut album, recorded in the living room of free jazz pioneer Frode Gjerstad. This year, the trio is relevant with the record "Angänge omstendigheter som nicht sel seg nedzegne" on the quality label Hubro.
