Mark Solborg Trio w/ Herb Robertson
The guitarist comes from the vital jazz milieu in Copenhagen Mark Solborg with his trio. Mark Solborg is absolutely central to Danish jazz life, and he unfolds within a rather wide-ranging musical palette. The trio is one of his main projects, and in it we find the Norwegian bassist Mats Eilertsen og Peter Brown - one of the finest drummers on the Danish jazz scene. The trio often play with guests, and to Kongsberg they bring the American trumpet legend with them Herb Robertson. Robertson is on the trio's album «The Trees». The Danish critic Rasmus Steffensen writes about it: "Overall, The Trees appears as an impressionistic improv record, where there is enough room for the noise of life and powerful outbursts, but where the musical landscapes are primarily drawn out by tender hints and silence (... ). However, the music does not intrude, but rather stands there as an invitation, a landscape with the opportunity to step into it. It is an invitation, one is highly recommended to accept."
