Stian Carstensen has hosted Marius Neset on stage only once before - which was so successful that it will now be possible for more people to experience the two virtuosos together during the Kongsberg Jazz Festival.
Within a few years, Marius Neset has had a formidable international breakthrough, from the victory with JazzKamikaze in the Young Nordic Jazz Comets in 2005, releases and concerts with his own quintet, to larger collaborative projects with the London Sinfonietta and the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra - and much more.
When the leading jazz magazine Downbeat recently presented 25 musicians who it believed would be ground-breaking in the jazz of the future, the saxophonist Marius Neset was included, as the only European.
With his own quintet, Marius Neset always manages to arouse the audience's excitement, and this excitement is guaranteed to be no less when he will now play with the musical cornucopia Stian Carstensen.
