This year's concert series at Odd Fellow is characterized by the Nordics, and Sweden is strongly represented by the trio LSB. Behind these letters hide three of the leading names in Swedish free jazz; Fredrik Ljungkvist, Raymond Strid and Johan Berthling.
Fredrik Ljungkvist has been a very welcome regular at the Kongsberg Jazz Festival for a number of years. It should be enough to mention the Atomic and Yun Kan bands to get the jazz teeth running.
Raymond Strides dynamic drums we have heard in duo and trio contexts, but also in the large format as an important part of the Barry Guy New Orchestra.
Johan Berthling is one of Sweden's best and most versatile bassists. In addition to the best of his home country's jazz musicians, he has been heard in innovative collaborations with international figures such as our own Paal Nilssen-Love. He also crosses genre boundaries with great naturalness into electronica and rock.
