Kygojazz with Ensemble Denada
Kygo is the sound of summer, and will guarantee the biggest party of the year at Kongsberg!
The special thing about the concert in Kongsberg is that Kygo does what not so many years ago was "standard procedure" for major international artists, namely bringing a very jazz orchestra on stage. Ensemble Denada's musicians are not unknown faces behind big artist names. But here the whole band takes to the stage in the finale to send Kygo on into Kongsbergnatta. Denada has specially written arrangements by band leader Helge Sunde. This year's opening artist, Pat Metheny, used the same Sunde as conductor when, together with Jan Garbarek and Michael Gibbs, he created an anniversary concert for the bass icon Eberhard Weber in Stuttgart last year. How a jazz orchestra and a world-class EDM artist will sound together, no one knows yet. But as Miles Davis said: "Music is always changing. It changes because of the times and the technology that's available»
Ensemble Denada is:
Frank Brodahl (trumpet), Marius Haltli (trumpet), Anders Eriksson (trumpet, flugelhorn), Frode Nymo (soprano sax), Børge-Are Halvorsen (alto sax, flute, alto flute), Atle Nymo (tenor sax, bass clarinet), Shannon Mowday (bass sax , contralto clarinet), Even Kruse Skatrud (trombone), Helge Sunde (trombone)
Jens Thoresen (guitar), Håkon Mjåset Johansen (drums)
KYGO is the sound of summer, and will guarantee the biggest party of the year at Kongsberg!

Shooting star Aurora has in two short years enchanted both a Norwegian and international audience with her dark pop songs and fascinating stage personality. Aurora received the award as newcomer of the year at the Spellemannsprisen in January, she figured in the British charts before Christmas with the Oasis cover "Half the World Away" and these days visits the American talk show Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show".
