Krokophant feat. Storløkken and Håker Flaten
High energy jazz-prog!

High energy jazz-prog! Krokofant are quickly labeled as crowd favorites everywhere they play - and we have to agree.
The trio Krokofant play energetic and explosive jazz rock that feels both free and structured. The sound image is heavily rooted in the 70s, but there are strong references to King Crimson, Soft Machine and the Mahavishnu Orchestra - an expression they believe hits both rock folk, free jazzers and jazz-rock nostalgics.
With a drumming that sounds like a turbocharged hybrid between Keith Moon and Elven Jones, Krokofant plays precise and heavy riffs that are released in shockingly strong improvisations. Long, wild saxophone solos reveal a particularly creative, varied and virtuoso guitar playing, without ever at the expense of the interaction and the groove.
But this concert will be something completely extra. The band has two guests with them who are both almost icons on their instruments: Ståle Storløkken has for a number of years contributed to many key bands with his driving and boundless rhythmic keyboard playing - from Terje Rypdal, via Motorpsyco to Elephant 9. And many, many more! Bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten is also a big international name. We know him from bands like Atomic, The Thing, The Young Mothers and countless collaboration projects with people like Ken Vandermark, Bugge Wesseltoft, Joe McPhee - to name a small selection.
