Kim Myhr: You | me
With the critically acclaimed album You | KIm Myhr received an honorable mention during last year's Nordic Music Price. It is with pride and joy that we can now welcome you to a concert with this project in Smeltehytta!
Kim Myhr is seen on stages worldwide. He has been one of the leading voices on the experimental scene in Norway in recent years, both as a composer and guitarist.
In 2014 he released his critically acclaimed solo album 'All you Limbs Singing'. Two years later he released his second solo album, 'Bloom'. Where the latter was named the year's seventh best Norwegian-produced album by Dagbladet.
The album 'You | me' was released in 2017. An album that received a brilliant reception in the press and was nominated for the Nordic Music Prize in 2018, together with Björk, Susanne Sundfør and 9 other Nordic artists. The album consists of layers upon layers of acoustic and electric guitars, electronic elements, percussion and drums.
This is the first time I've made a record that to such a large extent proceeds from one musical starting point. It's also the first time I've made music that has one continuous pulse throughout the record. I wanted the music to be rich in details, to the point that you almost feel like you are swimming in them, while at the same time it should have a simplicity in form; that the entire musical course should be experienced as one state.
In the concert version of the album, Kim Myhr has the three percussionists who played on the album with him: Tony Buck (The Necks), Ingar Zach (Huntsville, Dans les arbres) and Hans Hulbækmo (Atomic, Moskus, Broen), in addition to the guitarists Håvard Volden , David Stackenäs and Adrian Myhr.
