Jonas Cambien trio
Free and tight from a razor-sharp trio

The Belgian, Oslo-based pianist Jonas Cambien uses inventive compositions as a starting point for improvised conversations with woodwind player André Roligheten and drummer Andreas Wildhagen. With a penchant for the genreless and everything in between, the trio play contemporary music you can hum along to and free jazz you can stomp your foot to.
Free and tight, primitive and sophisticated, the trio is not afraid to challenge the antipodes. Audun Vinger (Jazznytt) declared the song "Rennaissance" the song of the year: "it's the type of song that fits just as well at a mafia funeral as at a wedding at Nesodden".
The trio has two album releases behind them - 'A Zoology of the Future' and 'We Must Mustn't We' - and is garnering praise from home and abroad, but as everyone knows, this is music that is best enjoyed live.
