Joey DeFrancesco is the main man behind the revitalization of organ jazz - something he has proven on several occasions throughout his career. Now he will perform at a party with his trio, which includes the legendary drummer Billy Hart. It will be a wonderful reunion with the American who is also considered a master of both trumpet and vocals.
Joey was a child prodigy and started playing the organ at an early age. He got a contract with Columbia Records at 16, where he released his first album at 17. In the same year, he was asked by Miles Davis to join him on tour, which he did. This was the start of a new chapter - it was precisely here that DeFrancesco got the inspiration to master the trumpet as an instrument.
His new album, "In The Key Of The Universe" is out this spring and with him to Kongsbergjazz he brings the legendary drummer Billy Hart.
We can look forward to a groovy concert when DeFransesco guests Energimølla and Kongsberg Jazzfestival.
