Jazz talk
- informal conversations about jazz and cultural policy topics every day in the Jazzbox

12:00 – 12:30 Clashes: When different worlds meet
Ida Løvli Hidle and Erlend Skomsvoll are two musicians who are not afraid to explore and challenge genre booths and conventions. In the project Clashes, presented in Kongsberg Church during this year's festival, they explore the intersection between classical music and jazz, while at the same time asking both themselves and the audience: What happens to us when we face our own prejudices?
12:30 – 13:00 Prize winner talk with Marius Neset
Marius Neset In 2017, he received the Kongsberg Jazz Festival's great musician prize, and is therefore relevant in a total of three different constellations at this year's festival. Within a few years, the saxophonist has had a formidable international breakthrough, from releases and concerts with his own band, to larger collaborative projects with Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, among others. When the leading jazz magazine Downbeat presented 25 musicians who it believed would be ground-breaking in the jazz of the future, the saxophonist Marius Neset was included, as the only European.
Both conversations are led by Svein Magnus Furu.
