12.30-13.00: Norwegian jazz seen from the outside
This year, the festival has invited a handful of foreign journalists and industry professionals to what we call Kongsberg Jazz Meeting. The purpose is to showcase and promote the festival and the great diversity of Norwegian jazz. But how is Norwegian jazz perceived in the wider world today? In this conversation we meet Portuguese Pedro Costa, founder of Clean Feed Records, a leading record company in modern and expressive jazz, which also has several Norwegian musicians in its stable. In addition to Pedro Costa, we get to meet the American journalist Peter Margasak, who, among other things, writes for Downbeat, the world's leading jazz magazine, and the Chicago Reader. In conversation with music journalist Audun Vinger.
