Jazz fair: Plassen/Seim/Utnem

This year's jazz mass in Kongsberg Church will be an atmospheric evening of music, poetry and fellowship in unique surroundings. Andreas Utnem, Trygve Seim and Synnøve Brøndbo Plassen will meet for an evening inspired by texts by Jon Fosse, where folk tunes, jazz and liturgy flow naturally together.
The music is based on Utnem's critically acclaimed project You know me, but is presented here in a new and distinctive form created especially for the Kongsberg Jazz Festival. The audience can expect a warm and intimate experience with room for silence, reflection, communal singing and the celebration of communion.
Reidar Aasbo leads the service, and singers from Kongsberg Office participates during the fair.
For many years, Kongsberg Church has been a very special setting for strong musical experiences during the festival, and this year's jazz fair joins the series of concerts and events that allow music to meet the peace, sound and presence of the church room.
The collection goes to the Kongsberg Jazz Festival and the SOS Children's Villages project in Malawi.
