Jazz intro: Operation Hegge + Hatch
Jazzintro is a launch program for young, professional jazz performers, and is organized every two years by Norsk Jazzforum in collaboration with Vossa Jazz, Maijazz, Nattjazz, Kongsberg Jazzfestival and Moldejazz. Eight exciting bands with young, talented jazz musicians have been handpicked to take part in Jazzintro 2014, and at Kongsberg we are lucky enough to be visited by Operation Hegge and Hatch.
Operation Hegge is a quintet with three wind players who write in long traditions from both American, European and not least Scandinavian jazz. The music ranges from light and groovy tunes, intense and tough stretches, to melodious ballads. Easily accessible, catchy and surprising!

Hatch is a modern jazz quartet that, through solid compositions and playful and improvisational musicality, creates exciting, catchy, driving and beautiful music. Hatch is inspired by the jazz tradition, but is also not afraid to bring in elements from other musical landscapes.
