Maja Friis er flue på veggen når den anerkjente pianisten Niels Lan Doky skal åpne sin nye jazzklubb. Ting går aldeles ikke som planlagt: håndverkerne har ikke gjort jobben sin, bandet er ikke samspilte og den krevende jazzdivaen som er flydd inn fra New York er ikke fornøyd med forholdene. Nils Lan Doky klarer imidlertid å holde hodet kaldt, i denne lune og morsomme dokumentaren som alle som har arrangert konserter vil kjenne seg igjen i.
