Misty - The Errol Garner Story, explores the life of self-taught American jazz pianist Erroll Garner. Considered a genius by his peers, he had a highly successful career while also managing a complex personal life.
Garner is best known for his composition "Misty," which he reportedly wrote between two concerts on an airplane. The song has become one of the great jazz standards and remains one of the most played ballads in the world.
Through interviews with those close to him, the film attempts to uncover who the man behind the ever-friendly smile really was. The film provides insight into his life and legacy, and examines how he changed jazz music forever.
