Jazz Film: Cologne 75
An inspiring film about youthful drive and music's ability to overcome everything.

The film follows 18-year-old Vera Brandes, who defies her conservative parents to organize a concert with jazz pianist Keith Jarrett in Cologne in 1975. Despite almost failing, the improvised concert becomes an iconic event and results in the famous recording "Cologne Concert".
The film depicts the challenges Vera faces, including technical difficulties and opposition from her parents, and her struggle to make the concert happen. Mala Emde plays Vera Brandes, while John Magaro plays Keith Jarrett. The film had its world premiere at the Berlinale Film Festival in February 2025.
