Explore young talents at Jazzboksen!
Outside our regular festival program, we also have concerts at Jazzboksen. Here we organize free concerts every day, all day – and give students, semiprofessional and amateurs the opportunity to play concert for a wide audience.
Watch out, tomorrow’s jazz stars can be found among this program. Previously, artists such as Fieh, Frøy, Bendik Baksaas and Hilde Marie Holsen have played on this scene.
Reidun Ottersen Kvartett // 13:30
With their feet firmly planted in a multitude of styles, these four musicians are influenced by blues and jazzpop, funk and traditional jazz. With small hints of free improvisation and re-arranged pop songs, they form a playful and varied sound. After a successful year in Toneheim folkehøgskole, where the band was formed, they are now ready enter the stage at Jazzboksen with solid groove.

With her up-front, clear vocals and powerful melodies, Norwegian singer/songwriter Synne Hoff tells relatable stories through catchy pop songs. From behind the piano, often accompanied by electronic sounds, drums and tons of backing vocals, she takes the listener on a journey through her mind and heart with her direct and emotional lyrics.

The group combine modern Jazzfolk with free improvisation and memorable melodies, creating beautiful stories with their musical craft and drive to generate a special listening experience. Their original compositions promise a diverse evening to send your emotions on a journey.
