In the set to MINORS you will find everything from jovial jazz standards to bold funk. With their unique interpretations, they put their young and experimental distinctive touch on both known and unknown music. The group has played on a number of different stages, and for a varied audience. All in all, the band is looking to have fun with the music, create a good atmosphere, and give the listeners a good experience. Jonas Evenstad (vibraphone), Martin Stokke Mathiesen (piano), Sebastian Lindland (drums), Emil Bø (trombone), Åsleik Kapstad (saxophone), Sondre Ross Folkestad (tuba).
Computer bingo is a quintet from Oslo. The genre is jazz rock with a focus on fierce grooves and melodies. This year the band had their debut gig at MIR in Oslo and plan to release music during 2018. Databingo consists of Sondre Gautefald (guitar/songs), lauritz Skeidsvoll (saxophone), Simen Wie (bass), Peder Skeidsvoll (trumpet), Magnus Austad (drums)
Aftret's Tree is a newly started trio consisting of Karl Erik Horndalsveen (double bass), Veslemøy Narvesen (drums) and Sigrid Aftret (saxophone). The three met on the jazz line at Norway's Academy of Music, where they started working with Sigrid's compositions. The compositions allow the melodies to determine form and harmonics, and an energetic expression inspired by 60s free jazz meets sources of inspiration such as Hanna Paulsberg and Keith Jarrett.
LINDSJÖRN is one of Norway's most exciting and raw live artists, already recommended by P3 Urørt. Together with her band, she gets audiences of all ages dancing with her delicious mix of neo soul, RnB and gospel. Raised with OutKast and Kanye West as soundtracks on car trips, Beyoncé as the soundtrack in front of the mirror, and with a background as a dancer, LINDSJØRN delivers a concert that is difficult to describe, but wonderful to experience.
The name MayRahKee comes from the Greek term meraki, which can be translated to 'the essence of oneself put into the work one performs'. This is also the band's principal focus in the composing process, and is manifested in their strong presence on stage. Through a soulful synthesis of jazz, neo-soul and electronica, MayRahKee presents bold harmonies over intricate rhythms. The Nordic clarity gives a delicious nerve to the warm soundscape, as the band creates elegant movements in the silence. The band was formed in 2015, and this winter vocalist Vilde Skjerdal took his musicians to Studio Cederberg for the recording of his first album. The result will be able to be experienced for the first time at the Kongsberg Jazz Festival!
